Position: Software Engineer (Web Content Researcher)
Location: Mohali, India( Remote)
The Web Content Researcher will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering, Security.Internet content continues to grow and change at a rapid pace. New websites are created, user generated content is proliferating on social media sites and malware continues to rise rapidly. Effective web and social media policy enforcement begin with accurate content classification. Dynamic content classification is an effective way to keep up with the changing internet. Zscaler has pioneered several URL categorization technologies that allow customers to get the most accurate classification of web content their users are accessing. We are looking for entry-level level research engineers to join our content classification team in Chandigarh. The research engineer will be primarily responsible for data mining and analyzing web traffic to improve both classification accuracy and coverage. This requires an understanding of the web, an analytic mindset and strong scripting/automation skills.

Responsibilities/What You’ll Do
- Analyze web traffic going through Zscaler
- Improve existing URL and web content classification
- Analyze un-categorized content and improve coverage
- Scripting and automation of content classification workflow
- Work with QA automation testing to improve Zscaler cloud’s content classification accuracy and reliability across releases and updates
Requirements:
- 0 to 3 years of experience in web content categorization
- Basic knowledge of web protocols and networking like HTTPS,HTTP, FTP, SSL,TLS , DNS is a must .
- Webserver: Apache
- O/S: Linux or BSD
Desired/ Good to have skills :
- Basic understanding of cyber attacks like Phishing,Malware,Trojan etc..
- fundamentals on web protocols and web application security is preferred .
- Programming: Perl or Ruby, or Python or shell is preferred
- RDBMS: MySQL or Postgres
- Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JS , Jquery etc..
